Hey, nice to meet you here!

My name is Limin Dai. I was born in Shanghai, China, and I am an artist currently living in Germany. At the moment, I study classical guitar at the Cologne University of Music and Dance.

My passion for art began in childhood when I first encountered calligraphy. This early experience inspired me to start drawing with black ink. Over the years, I gradually developed my own distinctive visual language — detailed and expressive works that tell stories and convey strong emotional and philosophical undertones.

Using fineliners, I create complex, mostly black-and-white compositions. My works explore themes such as human relationships, the transience of life, inner emotional landscapes, and sometimes imaginary worlds. A recurring element in my drawings are small monsters, which function as symbolic figures representing real people or emotions such as fear, joy, anger, or vulnerability. Through these figures, I often reflect on human nature, inner conflicts, and the relationship between the individual and the surrounding world.

My work has been presented at several international art fairs and exhibitions. In 2023, I exhibited at the ART Shopping Paris, followed by the ARTe Stuttgart 2024. In 2025, I participated in both the STROKE Fair 2025 in Munich and the Florence Biennale 2025 in Florence, one of the major international exhibitions of contemporary art. In addition, I have taken part in smaller and more intimate exhibitions that have helped introduce my work to a growing audience.

Through my art, I hope to invite viewers to explore emotional, imaginative, and philosophical dimensions, and to reflect on the complexity of human relationships and inner experiences.
